Art of Living center in Belagavi adopts Kalki
May 2024
Overview
Belgaum, Karnataka — At the heart of this peaceful city, the Art of Living Center in Belgaum has long been a space for inner transformation and community learning. Over the past year, it has also become a model for sustainable, chemical-free living—thanks to the introduction of Kalki Bioculture.
A Shift Toward Natural Wellness
The shift began a year ago when Sejal Patravali, the center head and a Senior Art of Living Faculty for children, teens, and adults and also a Sahaj Samadhi facilitator arranged a workshop led by Babita Bhatkande ji. This session introduced the center to Kalki, a natural bioculture solution designed for multiple applications—from hygiene and pest control to plant health and soil revitalization.
"We Replaced Everything with Kalki"
“We have seen immense benefits after switching to Kalki,” says Sejal Patravali. “We no longer use products like phenyls, or synthetic mosquito repellents. Instead, we rely entirely on Kalki for maintaining hygiene and controlling pests.”
The impact was almost immediate. The mosquito menace, which once plagued the center—especially after the rains—has dramatically declined. Insects and worms that previously appeared during monsoons are now a thing of the past.
Safe for Plants, Effective for Spaces
The Belgaum center, located on the top floor of a three-story building, is surrounded by plants and greenery. “We use Kalki in a diluted form as a natural alternative to fertilizers and chemical sprays,” Sejal adds. “It’s safe, it’s effective, and it supports plant health without harming the environment.”
Even the building’s basement, once a breeding ground for mosquitoes, is now cleaned weekly using Kalki—resulting in a complete transformation of the space.
Community Adoption and Advocacy
The benefits haven't just been limited to the center itself. Inspired by the results, regular visitors and residents of the building have started using Kalki in their own homes. “I’ve ensured that all domestic help in our building use Kalki regularly,” Sejal shares. “Our community has adopted it wholeheartedly. People now come to the center to refill and prepare Kalki for their household use.”
Beyond Usage: A Shift in Perspective
In her closing remarks, Sejal expresses deep gratitude to Ajit Parab ji, the visionary behind Kalki Bioculture. “Through conversations with him, we’ve come to understand the deeper ecological reasons why mosquitoes and pests emerge in certain environments. It’s not just about control—it’s about aligning with nature.”
Final Word
The Art of Living Center in Belgaum stands today as a shining example of how natural solutions like Kalki Bioculture can create cleaner, healthier, and more harmonious living spaces—without relying on harmful chemicals.
“We urge more and more people to switch to Kalki,” says Sejal. “It’s not just a product—it’s a lifestyle change. One that brings us closer to nature, and to the wisdom of living in harmony with it.”
